Let's just say that in the past 11 days I've taken over 500 photos! That is how crazy, busy and fun these last couple of weeks have been! So I will start in chronological order just so I don't miss anything. I will, however, have to break it all up otherwise this post would be a mile long!
So our big news is that we officially have our house for sale! This will be our 6th abode in 7 years! I know what your thinking..."Are you crazy?" and the answer is "A little!" What can I say, we like change! And we like opportunity. All of our moves have been about a good opportunity and that makes it all worth it! We decided that our next place of residence will either be Arizona or back to Cali. The decision has yet to be made official, but when it does...you will be the first to know! Ken had some business in California and I wanted to tag along so we decided last Tuesday to head down to Cal on Wednesday. I spent the day packing and we headed out on Wednesday night. We stayed with Ken's Mom and had a great time. We were at the beach a lot and visiting with friends and family. Ava really loved the beach! I was a little shocked by that?!
Ava loved our walk out on the Huntington Beach Pier...she kept waving to the surfers and yelling "Hi-o". We also met up with my BFF Jenny and her awesome boys for more beach fun.
Ava loved to play but didn't care too much for the sand. It was pretty hot but even the stuff in the shade on her towel didn't please her too much. She did like being outside and she just played. She didn't even get a really good nap and was still pretty happy. I took her down to the water, which was pretty warm, and she didn't really love that either. I don't think she could figure out why it was coming at her...a little different than the pool!
The next day we headed down to my Brother's in Lake Forest so Ava could see her cousins. She had so much fun playing with them and all of their toys. It was like Christmas day! We don't get to see Mary, Matthew and Emily very much so we had a good time catching up. You can tell how much they love Ava...so cute and tender with her!
You can tell that Ava was more interested with Matthew and Kate at that moment! After our visit we went back to Grandma Margaret's house to cool off in the pool. Their pool has a little swim out shallow section that was perfect for Ava to play.
Ken's sister Gretchen brought Ava that cute suit she is in! And a few other toys which made the drive home that much more bearable! (Thank you Gretchen!!!) We had such a good time visiting with family and friends. Ken was able to work and play too! And of course, no trip to California is complete without a stop at In-N-Out!!! We met the Treanor's their for Dinner one night. I tell ya', these are the sweetest boys you will ever meet in your life! I could give an entire blog post to just their amazing qualities and how I want every one of my boys to be just as good as they are! I feel like we've known them forever and watching them grow up is such a good thing. I would give them anything (and they know that!)! They just make me so happy!!!
We pulled an 'all nighter' to get home for Church and some Sunday obligations and we were so exhausted! Ava is pretty good in the car...thanks in part to technology! We had a really great time and were so glad we could get away for a few days!
So, Ken just got home with my shaved ice so I need to go! I've got plenty more to blog about so be on the look out!
i didn't know cali was an option. and just so you know arizona has in-n-out too. lol sounds like a whirlwind trip. and fun too. i so want to go to the beach! and disneyland! (insert brenna's "i want lip" voice here) miss ya.
