and tonight it did! What, you ask? All of Ava's physical therapy has really begun to pay off and she has successfully mastered getting onto our giant red sofa in the front room ALL BY HERSELF! Can you see it coming? Yes, tonight she fell off of that giant read sofa! Poor baby. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have a giant leather ottoman in front of said sofa. She couldn't have hit it so perfectly again, even if she tried. She hit right at the point of her left cheekbone and it looked like we implanted a baseball, all be it a purple baseball in her cheek. There are a few red scrapes from hitting the seam of the corner but mostly just a giant bruise. She wasn't too thrilled when I held an ice pack to it for 30 minutes but I think that helped. And this is where having a g-tube helps because you can instantly get the medicine in her and don't have to wait until she's done crying! She was soooo sad. She just kept screaming that she 'fall, go boom da couch". I couldn't bring myself to take a picture but it looks pretty bruised. It didn't get close enough to the eye so there was no blood vessels broken or black eye, thank goodness. She is out for the night and I could tell she was so ready for the day to be over.
my poor sweet baby!
update: this morning it looks a little different! Her eye is open but completely swollen. It look a lot worse today but she's acting fine. she spent a little time in front of the mirror examining it but I'm sure it's going to be fine in a couple of days.
poor sweetness, that is so so sad.
