These last couple of months have been a tad challenging for us...OK, for ME! You see, my youngest is an over achiever and has decided that the "terrible two's" should start way before she's actually 2! Usually I'm not one for labeling children and their respective tendencies because it seems it can only give you blinders but in this case I can't think of any other reasoning to describe her behavior. Don't get me wrong, she's also full of love, smiles and lots of laughs but this one has decided to REALLY give me a run for my money!
A few things you might not know about our little Beezers.....
She wakes up every morning at 5:11am requesting to watch Dora the Explorer. She wants her Gaukee (silky) and Bimpy (binky) along with her!
After an unfortunate bout with Strep and not eating, she is now addicted to "Gauget" milk. Or, milk with Chocolate Instant Breakfast in it. Oh, and don't try and put half the packet in because she will know it and hand it back to you saying "mo gauget"!
Every time she gets undressed she MUST have the shirt left around her head so she can laugh and show her Daddy. It's so funny!
She screams like a Pterodactyl if Ava even thinks of singing the Theme song to her beloved Dora the Explorer Show!
Expect, on a daily basis, to be carrying around at least 3 things Dora related items, one silky and one binky.
Only her love of shoes rivals that of her love for Dora the Explorer! You can also expect unmatched shoes to be worn on the wrong feet. And usually they are Ava's shoes too! Lately she has taken to bringing you your shoes and trying to put them on for you. They are also not matching! I don't even bother trying to select her shoes for her anymore. I just tell her to get her shoes on and see what she comes up with. Aaahhh, self expression!
Occasionally, I will find her walking around the kitchen biting or sucking on the cabinet pulls. I know....random!
She is talking all of the time now! Here are a few of my favorite expressions, along with the appropriate translation...
Dair go or Ear go = Here you go (while handing you the item in her hand)
Nack = snack
gack you = Thank you
eeeww me = exuse me
Bimpy = Binky
Gaukee = silky
Mommy....get you = when she wants to be held she will stand in my feet, hug my legs and repeat this until the request is granted. It usually doesn't take long! :)
She really is the best thing that has happened to this family, even though some days are more challenging than others! My favorite has to be when I am listening to her talk to Ava or when she will only accept consolation from Ava. They have such a sweet relationship! When Ava is crying Bailey will go and hug her and say "aaawww" while her hands are patting Ava's back. Now that is enough to forget about that whole 5:11 AM thing!
And last but not least.....she's pretty dang cute!
